Wind power

When we need energy most as recently with the extreme cold rarely is the wind blowing.
Water is always flowing Rivers are the most powerful during winter months.
Tide movement is consistent always on the move
Harness the power of water
Even water flowing through sewers is on the move Use the movement of water

Wind power is a waste of time and energy

I totally believe that wind farms are a complete waste of money, the number of times I have passed wind farms that have stood silent/still is proof in itself.why can coal burning power stations not be developed to produce clean electricity as there is enough coal still buried under this land to last for generations.

Wind power is useful when it's windy but useless in freezing cold and still weather conditions like the recent snowy period. Windmills are also incredibly expensive, especially when built offshore. Instead of building them and a good proportion of other new generation capacity (nuclear, clean coal if technology allows, and gas) we should invest in a truly massive programme of energy efficiency, retro-fitting the existing housing and commercial building stock with insulation and improved energy controls. Councils will be funded to work with private contractors and go through their whole area, street by street, over a 10 year period. Citizens and businesses will be expected to accept the free insulation, draught-proofing and so on, when a survey reveals they need it: the carrot will be free building improvements and reduced energy bills; the stick will be a 200% increase in your council tax if you don't cooperate, with the extra tax being used to improve the houses of your neighbours instead. The 200% increase in your council tax will apply to whoever buys your house when you come to sell it as well, which will further incentivise you to do the work. To reduce fraud the insulation and draught-proofing work must be approved and certified by Building Control, in the same way as FENSA windows or GasSafe new boiler installations

Energy needs to be sustainable ... allthough renewable technologies are interesting in that they produce clean energy ... usually the cost is much greater for the consumer take a look at some of the markets greener tariffs ... the way forward would have to be nuclear operated and managed safely this would cut co2 emmisions considerably and combined with other industries highly cost effective ... cutting the need for fossil fuels and unsightly solar and wind farms across the globe ...

I believe that aneutronic fusion can be a better alternative to reduce our carbon emissions and dependency on fossil fuels.
Aneutronic fusion energy is cleaner and safer, it is neutron-free, does not produce radioactive wastes.
In my point of view, aneutronic energy is to be affordable, reliable, efficient, and environment friendly as it can produce enormous energy using small areas, emitting almost no pollution.

What happened to the grants for domestic wind turbines? In 2008, a colleague was asked to evaluate 3 windmills rated at 400 watts with a view to import them to complement the company product line. After 3 months the conclusion was that they were feeble in light winds and very noisy in a stiff breeze even mounted well above the factory. The average output was estimated to be 40 watts, enough to power a digi-box and a very poor return on the £1500 installed cost. The best application for such micro-power seems to be for illuminating remote buildings such as stables or campsite toilet blocks where the cost of running armoured cable may be prohibitive. There appears to be more mileage in nano-power where vibration or movement is harvested for mass produced low power devices and doing away with mains charging.

right through history inventions and new thing have been invented. It looks very clear that this world belive's this timeline has ended and there is nothing out there that is new and innovative and have turned there backs on finding this. I am the opposite I do not belive that when the pressure gets great enough some corporation will come up with a solution. The solution is all ready here the answer is who has allowed the doors for ordinary people to bring forward new energy. What I refer to is that the EEC funding is only for new energy and has gone to wind farms which is not new as just invented today is it?. And this funding is not given to any individuals but oddly enough an inventor is usually an individual. The British government relies on a whole host of enterprises that are fail the inventors rights. The patent system state if anyone else is to share your idea then it is not novel or new so this only serves as sword that keep inventors mouths shut. If a person is poor in money and wealthy in innovation he is a prisoner to watch this world walk to it fate. and when the pain gets bad enough then doors will open. but for now the situation will become desperate. Wind power is good yes but what else it out there that is not realized yet I ask you to consider the realist possibility of a future of free energy, but also the balance of the prospects of thousands unemployed, and the loss of oil sales is a very serious prospect that maybe gives ground as to why governments have cold feet when allow new energy to come to the market place until all resources are depleted. This all my sound doom and gloom it is not may be this is the precursor to allow new energy to be placed before the consumer. I my self speak this because I am an innovator in this very position. I am thankfully to EON for creating this window that will make a wedge that hopefully allow people like me to come be listened to when my mouth is tied by the state and offered overbearingly prerequisites prior to bring new innovative energy efficient products to the market.

Windmills are a total distraction in the provision of reliable future electricity. It's time to stop enriching developers and landowners (whilst upsetting many local people) and get on with the buidling of future electricioty generators - nuclear, CCS coal etc

Why is no organisation listening to the little inventors. I for one have devised over twenty feasible renewable reliable high output power station systems to negate fossil fuels and also produce fully automated farming systems. No one listens but all want to shout about the cost of green energy. We invent for fun and just want outlets for our systems. It is infuriating that organisations will not listen unless you have a masters in following current theories which are not working. It is time to listen to the little men and women who enjoy practical
science and engineering applied with imagination. I am only one and i am sure there are thousands more like me. Please listen to us and if anyone wants to network my email is thomaswigley@hotmail.com.

Wind power is a transparent 'con' and I find it unbelievable that politicians can actually believe it is viable. Its generating capability must be matched by an alternative source (for when there is either too little or too much wind) and I wonder how many years it takes to pay back the carbon generated in the construction of wind factories.
Short term (say 25 years) we will have to rely on fossil fuels, but eventually the solution has to be nuclear generation, perhaps supported by tidal/hydro.
